We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in friendly, welcoming Primary Schools across Chester, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available.
These roles are perfect for individuals with a background in Social Care, Support Work, Youth Work, or similar fields who are looking to transfer their skills into an educational setting. Schools highly value the empathy, resilience, communication skills and behaviour support experience that social care professionals bring.
About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will support children across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and build positive relationships. You may work 1:1 with pupils who have SEN or provide small-group and classroom-based support.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils’ learning under the guidance of the class teacher
Provide nurturing, patient and consistent behaviour support
Help children build social skills, confidence and independence
Assist with classroom activities, resources and routines
Work with pupils with additional needs, including SEND or pastoral challenges
Contribute to a positive, inclusive and safe school environment
We are looking for individuals who:
Have experience in Social Care, Support Work, or similar fields
Are calm, compassionate and resilient
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
Can be reliable, proactive and confident working with children
Are passionate about helping young people thrive
