New Directions Education is recruiting a fully qualified Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEMH school in Runcorn. This is a long-term role supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The School:
Specialist provision for pupils with SEMH needs
Structured, supportive environment focused on emotional regulation and behaviour support
Strong emphasis on relationships, routine, and positive outcomes
Experienced leadership and multi-agency support in place
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH
Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Assist with differentiated learning activities and interventions
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
The Ideal Candidate:
Fully qualified Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or Level 3 or equivalent)
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
Calm, resilient, and confident working in a team
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and Update Service
Able to provide at least 6 months of employment references demonstrating teamwork
Strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
