New Directions are seeking a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher to work in primary settings across Leeds. This role is ideal for a committed practitioner who is enthusiastic about supporting children at a crucial stage in their educational journey and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering engaging, age‑appropriate lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
Using effective assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform planning
Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals
Promoting positive behaviour and upholding safeguarding responsibilities
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (ECTs are encouraged to apply)
Demonstrate strong knowledge of early reading, phonics, and basic numeracy
Be reflective, organised, and committed to ongoing professional development
Show enthusiasm, flexibility, and high expectations for all pupils
