New Directions are supporting one of our partner primary schools in Harrogate, North Yorkshire who are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support SEN pupils across KS1 and KS2.
The role will be varied and you will ideally have experience and an understanding of various SEND needs, including; pathological demand avoidance, autism, ADHD, emotional attachment disorders, and challenging behaviours. You will also need experience of de-escalation techniques.
The role is working Monday to Friday on a long-term supply basis with a view to going temp to perm after 12 weeks.
What you’ll need:
Experience of working in mainstream primary schools across KS1 and KS2
Experience of working on a 121 basis with SEND pupils
A high degree of patience and resilience
A flexible approach to your working day – no two days will be the same in terms of workload
A caring, kind and compassionate nature but firm when required
The ability to work with your own initiative and with guidance from the the school’s leadership team
