New Directions Education is urgently recruiting compassionate and skilled Medical Needs Teaching Assistants to support learners with complex and medical needs across SEND settings in Leeds. If you’re passionate about making a real impact—we want to hear from you now.
We need people who:
Have experience supporting pupils with medical or complex health needs
Can confidently assist with personal care and follow healthcare plans
Understand trauma‑informed and therapeutic behaviour approaches
Have knowledge of ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Heath) and other SEND needs
(Team‑Teach training desirable but not essential)
In this vital role, you will:
Deliver 1:1 and small-group support
Help implement EHCPs and personalised learning
Lead creative and sensory activities
Build strong, positive relationships with learners and families
Ensure the safety, dignity and wellbeing of every child
