New Directions Education are currently recruiting Youth & Education Support Workers to work in secondary schools across the Wirral. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in youth work, care, or residential support settings who are looking to transfer their skills into an educational environment.
The Role:
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged pupils
• Supporting students with behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
• Offering pastoral and mentoring support to pupils facing barriers to learning
• Supporting students with SEMH, SEND, and additional needs
• Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
• Helping to maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Experience working in a care, youth work, or residential support role
• A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to manage challenging behaviour positively
• A genuine interest in supporting young people within education
• A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• A full UK driving licence (desirable)
