Contract: Combination of adhoc, short-term and long-term bookings
Pay: £88.92 – £100.00 per day (dependent on experience)

New Directions Education is working in partnership with a specialist school and college near Frodsham to recruit dedicated Teaching Assistants to support their staffing needs. The setting provides a personalised and inclusive education for young people aged 7–19 with autism, complex learning needs, communication differences and sensory integration challenges.
The school offers a structured, low-arousal learning environment with carefully adapted spaces designed to meet pupils’ sensory preferences and wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to deliver a bespoke curriculum that supports academic development alongside communication, independence and social skills.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in the classroom and across the wider school environment, helping them engage with learning, build confidence and develop essential life skills. You will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide person-centred support that enables pupils to reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students with autism and additional learning needs during lessons and activities
Assisting with personalised learning programmes and classroom tasks
Encouraging communication, independence and social development
Supporting pupils with life skills and community-based learning opportunities
Helping to maintain a positive, structured and supportive learning environment
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential)
A patient, empathetic and supportive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
