About the Roles
We are currently working with a number of inclusive and supportive primary and secondary settings in East Leeds who are looking for skilled SEN Teachers on a temp‑to‑perm basis. These roles involve teaching and supporting pupils with a range of needs, including:
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Speech, Language & Communication Needs
Moderate & Severe Learning Difficulties
SEMH needs
Complex or multiple learning difficulties
Depending on your experience, you may teach in specialist provisions, resource bases, or mainstream settings with SEND support.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet individual EHCP targets
Create inclusive, engaging, and accessible learning experiences
Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting emotional wellbeing and independence
Use a wide range of strategies to support communication, sensory regulation, and behaviour
Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies
Track and record progress, ensuring high‑quality outcomes
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
What We’re Looking For
QTS or QTLS (essential)
Experience teaching pupils with SEND, either in mainstream or specialist settings
Strong understanding of differentiation, scaffolding, and SEND‑specific strategies
Excellent behaviour‑management and pastoral‑support skills
A nurturing, resilient, patient, and solution‑focused approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Willingness to undertake additional training and CPD
