New Directions Education is seeking reliable, proactive, and skilled Supply ICT Technicians to support secondary schools across Harrogate and nearby areas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, keeping systems running smoothly, and providing essential technical support within busy school environments.
As a supply technician, you’ll experience a variety of settings, meet new teams, and play a vital role in ensuring students and staff have the technology they need to succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working across different schools, your responsibilities may include:
–Providing first‑line IT support to staff and students, resolving hardware and software issues quickly and effectively
–Maintaining and troubleshooting school devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and interactive whiteboards
–Managing user accounts, passwords, and permissions across school systems and networks
-Setting up equipment for lessons and events, ensuring smooth use of audio‑visual and classroom technology
-Installing, configuring, and updating software in line with school requirements
-Supporting network maintenance, including cabling, connectivity issues, Wi‑Fi troubleshooting, and basic server tasks (depending on experience)
-Escalating more complex issues to senior IT staff or external providers when required
–Maintaining accurate logs, asset inventories, and relevant documentation
-Ensuring safeguarding and data security guidelines are followed at all times

Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you:
-Have experience in ICT support, ideally within a school, college, or similar environment
-Are confident troubleshooting common hardware and software issues
-Have a good understanding of Windows operating systems, Office 365, networks, and school IT platforms
-Can work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage your time effectively
-Are friendly, approachable, and able to support users with varying levels of technical confidence
-Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to apply through New Directions)
-Are adaptable and comfortable working in different school environments at short notice
-Qualifications in IT support or networking (e.g., CompTIA, ICT Level 3, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
