Are you passionate about supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? Do you have experience working with pupils who require additional support to access education and achieve their full potential?
We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Student Resource Base (SRB) Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools across Cardiff. These roles are ideally suited to candidates seeking full-time work and who have previous experience supporting children with a range of additional learning needs.
About the Role
As an SRB Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with pupils who require additional support within a specialist resource provision. You will play a key role in helping learners develop academically, socially and emotionally while supporting them to access the curriculum.
Duties may include:
Supporting pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
Working on a one-to-one basis or with small groups
Assisting with learning activities and personalised support plans
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement
Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
Maintaining accurate records and observations where required
Essential Requirements
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), Special Educational Needs (SEN) or disabilities
Experience gained in schools, specialist provisions, care settings, youth work or similar environments
A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Reliability, professionalism and a strong work ethic
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting pupils with any of the following would be advantageous:
Autism
ADHD
Speech, Language and Communication Needs
Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
Learning Difficulties
Personal care requirements
