We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate ALN Teacher to join our team at New Directions Education on a supply basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an NQT who is committed to supporting pupils with additional learning needs and helping every learner reach their full potential.
The Role
As a Supply ALN Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support a range of additional learning needs.
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing appropriate feedback and support.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCO/ALNCo staff and other professionals.
Follow individual learning plans and contribute to pupils’ wider development and wellbeing.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and inclusion.
We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
Experience working with pupils with additional learning needs/SEND/ALN.
A patient, nurturing and inclusive approach to teaching.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
The ability to adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil needs.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
The flexibility and reliability required for supply teaching.
