You will need a minimum of 3 months child-based experience, and an enthusiastic attitude to help support students, and experience from the care field is also advantageous.
You will also be expected to help the teacher in preparing the classroom for lessons. This may involve a variety of activities such as photocopying worksheets, setting up art equipment, weighing out ingredients, preparing computers, rearranging the furniture for a particular activity and so on. The right candidate should be able to provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life to develop a wide-ranging skill set.
