New Directions is working with one of its special needs settings that caters for secondary aged learners with ASC & Complex Needs. This full-time (8.30am-4pm) teaching position commences at May half-term and is a longer-term.
The ideal ASC Teacher will have specific experience teaching in a special needs schools, specifically with secondary aged learners with ASC & Complex Needs. Experience teaching learners with additional needs is essential, as is the ability to de-escalate challenging behaviour. Experience working to P-Levels is essential for this specific role of ASC Teacher.
This well established SEND School caters for learners 11-19 with a range of special needs including: ASC, SLD & PMLD. Strong senior leaders have created a wonderful learning environment where all learners needs are catered for – with small specialist classes that are well staffed and resourced. The school is close to public transport links to Manchester and Trafford – as well as the M60 motorway.
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (or QTLS)
• Have recent secondary experience in the SEND sector
• Strong understanding of ASC & Complex Needs
• Have experience of behaviour management and de-escalation
• Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
• Teaching experience in the education and training sector
