A recently graded ‘Strong Standard’ secondary school in Sefton is seeking to appoint a confident and proactive Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time position with the potential to become a longer-term opportunity for the right candidate.
This role is ideal for individuals with prior school-based experience who are confident managing large classes and maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of the class teacher.
• Deliver pre-set work to whole classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the class teacher
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a focused and productive learning environment
• Supervise pupils throughout the lesson, actively circulating the classroom to monitor engagement and progress
• Respond to questions and provide support where appropriate
• Ensure school policies are followed at all times
• Previous experience working in a school setting is essential
• Confident managing large groups of students independently
• Proactive, with the ability to use initiative and think on their feet
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Able to maintain presence in the classroom, including moving around throughout lessons to support and engage pupils
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
