Cover Supervisor, Harrogate

Job Description

New Directions Education is currently recruiting experienced Cover Supervisors to work across a range of supportive and welcoming secondary schools in Harrogate.

This is an excellent opportunity for confident and reliable education professionals who enjoy working with young people and can effectively manage a classroom in the teacher’s absence. We are looking for individuals who can maintain high standards of behaviour, ensure students remain engaged with their learning, and quickly adapt to different school environments.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
• Ensure pupils remain on task and complete the work set by teaching staff
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff
• Support the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
• Adapt confidently to different year groups and subject areas
• Provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of lessons
• Uphold high expectations for learning, behaviour and attendance

What We’re Looking For

* Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor is essential

* Confident classroom and behaviour management skills

* Experience working within a secondary school setting

* The ability to engage and motivate students from a range of backgrounds

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* A professional, flexible and proactive approach

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
