Essential Requirements
Applicants should:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
Have experience teaching Design & Technology at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
Be confident delivering practical and theory-based lessons across Design & Technology subjects
Possess strong classroom management skills
Hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
Job Specification
As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will be expected to:
Deliver engaging and challenging Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and practical skills development
Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
Differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of all learners
Inspire students through innovative teaching methods and real-world applications
Assess, monitor and record student progress effectively
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Support pupils in developing practical workshop skills safely and confidently
Contribute to departmental planning and school improvement initiatives
Participate in school events, parents’ evenings and extracurricular activities where required
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and senior leadership teams
