Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting a Design & Technology Teacher to work in a highly regarded secondary school in Chester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and motivated teacher to join a well-resourced DT department and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Role:

• Planning and delivering engaging Design & Technology lessons
• Teaching across specialist areas such as product design, resistant materials, engineering, and/or graphics (dependent on experience)
• Supporting practical, hands-on learning using modern workshop facilities
• Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on student progress
• Maintaining a safe, well-organised, and inclusive workshop environment
• Contributing to the wider life of the school and the Design & Technology department

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
• Strong practical skills and confident use of workshop machinery and tools
• The ability to deliver high-quality practical and theory-based lessons
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
