Education Studies Graduate – Teaching Assistant Roles – Cheshire East
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm (Term Time Only)
Pay: £88.92- £95 per day dependent on prior level of experience
New Directions Education is seeking enthusiastic Education Studies Graduates to join multiple welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Cheshire East.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates looking to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical classroom setting, supporting children’s learning, progress, and wellbeing. We welcome candidates interested in full-time or part-time roles who can commit to the set hours of 8:30am – 4:00pm during term time.

Role Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support to pupils, including those with SEND / SEN, translating educational theory into practical support.
Assist with small group interventions to enhance learning outcomes and confidence.
Support teachers in delivering inclusive lessons and adapt resources using differentiated learning strategies.
Promote positive behaviour management and encourage pupil resilience using restorative approaches.
Contribute to assessment, tracking progress, and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, support staff, and external agencies to support pupil development.
Foster emotional wellbeing, independence, and confidence in learners.
Apply research-informed practices from your Education Studies background to support effective learning.
Be flexible, proactive, and adaptable, supporting both classroom learning and wider school initiatives.

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
  • BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

  • Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers

  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
