New Directions Education is seeking motivated and passionate English ECTs to work across several welcoming and high-performing Secondary Schools in Chester. These short-term and long-term positions will begin from January through to July, offering excellent opportunities to develop your teaching practice, gain experience in a variety of school settings, and complete your induction with full support.
We are looking for enthusiastic Early Career Teachers who are committed to delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4. Schools offer strong mentoring, supportive departments, and excellent facilities to help you grow into a confident and capable practitioner.
As an English ECT, you will be expected to:
Hold a PGCE with UK QTS
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Create a positive, well-structured classroom environment
Contribute to planning, assessment and attend relevant school events such as parents’ evenings
Bring creativity, flexibility and a passion for English teaching
Teach English Language and Literature to students aged 11–16, with possible KS5 opportunities depending on the school
