New Directions are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in M20, supporting pupils across EYFS to Year 6. The role will involve a mixture of classroom support, covering classes and 1:1 or small group support, so the school is looking for someone who is flexible and confident working across different year groups.
The position is available to start ASAP and will continue for the foreseeable future.
The Role
Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
Providing classroom support alongside class teachers.
Covering classes when required and delivering planned activities.
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils who require additional help.
Supporting pupils with their learning, development and progress.
Delivering interventions and targeted support where required.
Adapting your approach to suit different age groups and pupil needs.
Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive relationships.
Working closely with teachers and the wider school team.
Supporting the smooth running of the school and stepping into different roles as needed.
The Candidate
HLTA or Level 4 qualification is desirable.
Previous experience working within a primary school is essential.
Confident working across EYFS to Year 6.
Experience providing 1:1 and small group support.
Comfortable covering classes and taking on additional responsibilities when required.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across different year groups.
Good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Available to start ASAP and looking for a long-term opportunity.
