New Directions Education are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work in primary and secondary schools across Harrogate and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for confident HLTAs who are passionate about supporting teaching and learning and are looking for flexible or long-term opportunities within education.
The Role
As an HLTA, you may be required to:
Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher
Support pupils across a range of abilities, including SEND and EAL
Work alongside teachers to support effective learning outcomes
Provide targeted interventions for individuals or small groups
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Contribute to planning, assessment, and pupil progress where required
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a recognised HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience)
Have previous experience working in a UK school setting
Be confident leading a class and supporting learning independently
Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Be flexible, reliable, and adaptable to different school environments
Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
