Job Description

New Directions Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kirkby to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced practitioner who is passionate about making a positive impact in a close-knit community.

The Role:
• Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons across the KS1 curriculum.
• Deliver high-quality phonics teaching using Read Write Inc., supporting early reading and writing development.
• Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
• Use effective assessment to support children who may require additional academic or emotional support.
• Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupil progress and wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate:
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it.
ECTs are strongly encouraged to apply, with mentoring and professional support available.
• Experience delivering Read Write Inc. is essential.
• Passionate about supporting children from low socio-economic backgrounds and committed to inclusive practice.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with families and colleagues.
• Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide recent references.
