Job Description

We are currently seeking dedicated ALN Learning Support Assistants to join our team on a full-time basis, serving our Primary Schools in the Brecon area. In this role, you will provide invaluable support to students either in small groups or on a one-on-one basis, catering to their specific needs for additional assistance. Some students may require help focusing during lessons and benefit from access to supplementary learning tools to help them reach their full potential.

The ideal candidate will be adept at implementing innovative learning techniques to actively engage students, including those with socialising difficulties and other additional learning needs. A proactive attitude is essential, along with the ability to effectively monitor behavioural patterns and provide support to students struggling with self-esteem issues.

Key requirements for this role include:

• A minimum of 3 months of experience working with children, or a background in the care sector
• Contactable references to attest to your suitability for the position
• A valid child and Adult DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, or a willingness to undergo the necessary checks through New Directions
• Eagerness to participate in mandatory training sessions as required

Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 months’ experience in child-related roles or relevant qualifications, we also welcome applicants with transferable skills gained from roles in social care, coaching, or nursing.
