Job Description
We are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work within Learning Resource Base (LRB) units across schools in the Newport area.
As a Learning Support Assistant in an LRB, you will play a vital role in helping pupils with additional learning needs thrive in a structured, supportive environment. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
Key Responsibilities
Support students with a range of additional learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties
Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Monitor and record student progress
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or young people (school, care, or youth work settings)
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting additional learning needs
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential
