About the Role
We are currently recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to work in schools across Bridgend. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in a nurturing environment and make a real difference to their education and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs (ALN)
Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
Help manage behaviour in line with school policies
Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, and school activities
Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to track pupil progress
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable)
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of additional learning needs (ALN) (desirable)
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (or willing to register)
