A primary school on the Wirral is looking for a highly experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to cover a maternity leave starting 13th April.
This is a 2.5 day per week role (Wednesday–Friday) and could run for up to a year making it a brilliant opportunity for someone looking for regular, secure part-time work.
The Split:
Wednesday & Thursday – EYFS Strong early years knowledge essential. Confident supporting learning through play, routines and early development.
Friday – Year 6 Supporting upper KS2 pupils. Good subject knowledge and confidence with Year 6 expectations required.
This role needs a TA who can confidently move between Early Years and Year 6 therefore, experience in both is essential.
We’re looking for:
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
Proven experience in EYFS and KS2 (ideally Year 6)
Strong curriculum knowledge
Confident behaviour management
Professional, reliable and proactive approach
Ability to build positive relationships quickly

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
