New Directions are seeking generalist teachers or tutors who are looking to make a difference to EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) students. Successful candidates must possess either a PGCE or PCET qualification, and able to teach up to foundation level Mathematics and English.
New Directions are seeking a qualified Mathematics and English teacher who is able to carry out 1-1 tuition Foundation level support for EOTAS students. These pupils are not currently attending mainstream education or are working towards re-entering the system,
Some pupils may have Additional Learning Needs (ALN), so experience in supporting with Autism, and emotional, behavioural and social difficulties is imperative for this role, ideally a pastoral care experience within education would be favoured.
The successful applicant will become part of the Engagement, Wellbeing and Attainment team, working with pupils in Rhondda Cynon Taff. The pupils will be based at home or in Learning Centres and are not regular school attenders. This is a hybrid role, predominantly supportive, but there will also be some teaching and guidance involved when necessary.
This role is 5 days per week, you will start with a minimal timetable to begin with which will increase in hours/days, over 1/2 weeks.
Access to transport is essential for the position, as travelling to pupils homes, and relevant learning centers would be required.
