New Directions Education is recruiting caring and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistants to support a specialist SEND school in South Liverpool. The school provides high-quality education for children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), offering an incredibly rewarding opportunity for those passionate about supporting children with complex needs.

The Role:
Provide 1:1 or small-group support for young children with PMLD.
Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, changing, and mobility support.
Support sensory-based learning activities tailored to individual needs.
Use communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, sensory cues and other specialist strategies (training provided).
Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to create a safe, calm and engaging environment.
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience in SEND, care, health, or a similar environment is beneficial but not essential.
Transferable skills from care, NHS, early years, social care, or coaching roles are highly valued.
Must have at least 6 months of referenceable experience within the last 5 years.
Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check.
