New Directions are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate and committed ALN Teachers to cover on a supply basis in Primary schools across Cardiff
The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with Additional learning needs (ALN) and will be committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
You will plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons, adapt learning to meet individual needs and work closely with the ALNCo, teaching assistants, parents/carers and external professionals to ensure that every learner is supported to achieve their potential.
Job Specification
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for pupils with ALN.
Identify and respond effectively to individual learning needs.
Support the implementation and review of Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
Monitor, assess and record pupil progress.
Work closely with the ALNCo and wider school team.
Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, communication and wellbeing.
Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
Has experience working with pupils with ALN/SEND.
Has a good understanding of inclusive and differentiated teaching.
Is caring, patient, resilient and adaptable.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Is passionate about helping every learner achieve their full potential.
