A client based within the Newport area is currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work within their challenging Year 6 class. The school is centrally located so is easily accessible via car and public transport. The position is full time, 5 days per week Monday to Friday.
The Primary School are ideally looking for a candidate who works well under pressure, has a firm but fair approach and can use their own initiative within the busy environment. Although the position will involve dealing with challenging behaviour on a daily basis, it is also very rewarding working part of a team and giving children a safe and fun environment to be able to work to the best of their ability.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
