Primary Teacher (Science Specialist) – Day-to-Day & Long-Term Support Location: Various settings across Cheshire East Start Date: September 2025 Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm (Term Time Only) Pay: £130 – £170 per day (dependent on level of experience)
About the Role: New Directions is looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Primary Teacher (Science Specialist) to provide day-to-day and long-term support across our schools in Cheshire East. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring science to life, spark curiosity, and make learning exciting for children across multiple year groups.
You will have the chance to deliver hands-on, enquiry-based science lessons that encourage pupils to explore, investigate, and think critically. From building experiments to linking lessons to real-world STEM topics, you will help children develop a genuine love of science and an understanding of how it shapes the world around them.
What We’re Looking For: We are looking for a Primary Teacher (Science Specialist) who:
Is passionate about science and inspiring young learners to explore, discover, and problem-solve.
Can deliver engaging, interactive lessons that develop scientific reasoning and practical skills.
Knows how to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils and create an inclusive environment.
Can use formative and summative assessment to inform planning and track progress.
Enjoys linking science to other subjects and real-world applications to make learning meaningful.
Is flexible, adaptable, and confident teaching across a variety of schools and year groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver exciting science lessons that encourage enquiry, investigation, and critical thinking.
Use hands-on experiments and practical activities to make learning fun and memorable.
Embed science and STEM learning across other subjects and school initiatives.
Provide support in other primary subjects as needed, maintaining a broad and balanced curriculum.
Ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and differentiated, supporting the needs of every learner.
Monitor pupil progress and use data to inform teaching and interventions.
Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and best practice.
Create a positive and inspiring classroom culture that fosters curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Hold QTS status
Teach all areas of your subject specialism
