New Directions Education are recruiting a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to work in schools in Wallasey. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a welcoming and inclusive secondary school environment.
The Role:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting resources to meet individual needs
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
Promote positive behaviour and help pupils engage confidently in learning
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to implement personalised support plans
Monitor and record pupil progress, adjusting support as needed
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a secondary school setting (school experience desirable but not essential)
Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
A proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges
Good communication and teamwork skills
A genuine desire to make a positive difference in pupils’ lives
