New Directions is working with a Teaching Assistant in an SEMH Primary School in Trafford. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Provides dedicated support for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage positively with learning, build emotional resilience, and develop appropriate coping strategies.

The Role:
Full-time classroom support role supporting teaching and learning across KS1-2
Specifically supporting pupils with SEMH and associated behavioral needs through use of de-escalation techniques
Leading small group interventions in Maths and English
The Candidate:
Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. A Team Teach qualification is desirable but not essential as training can be provided by New Directions Education
Experience working with learners with SEMH needs in a classroom setting is preferred; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in care, support work, sports coaching, or psychology.
