We’re looking for HLTAs who are:
Experienced in working with PMLD or complex needs
Confident leading small groups, 1:1 sessions and supporting the class teacher
Skilled in multi‑sensory, therapeutic and communication‑focused approaches
Understanding of systems such as PECs, switches, Intensive Interaction (desirable)
Calm, patient, creative and passionate about SEN education
Comfortable assisting with personal care and medical routines
Reliable, adaptable and confident stepping into different settings
What you’ll do on supply as a PMLD HLTA:
Deliver and support individualised, sensory‑rich learning activities
Lead sessions and provide HLTA‑level support when needed
Build positive relationships with learners using consistent, nurturing approaches
Support pupils with personal care, mobility and medical needs
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
Ensure every learner is safe, engaged and supported with dignity
