New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a high-performing mainstream primary school in Southport. This is a full-time, long-term position with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:
Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant role supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and mild to moderate learning delays.
Provide both 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop key life skills.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external agencies to implement EHCP targets and tailor interventions effectively.
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school setting is essential.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, Autism Awareness, or equivalent) are desirable.
Able to provide a recent school-based reference covering the last 5 years.
