New Directions Education are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools across Sandbach. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them to succeed within mainstream education.
The schools we work with have inclusive SEND provisions and supportive staff teams committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
Due to the location of some schools, a full driving licence and access to transport would be beneficial.
• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Supporting children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language, and SEMH needs
• Assisting pupils to access learning within the classroom
• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
• Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress where required
• Experience working with children with SEND (school-based experience desirable)
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A full driving licence and access to transport (beneficial)
