New Directions Education are currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants for primary schools across Knutsford and the surrounding areas, supporting students with a range of additional learning needs.
These opportunities are ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about inclusive education and enjoy helping students overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence and independence.
Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND
Supporting students to access learning and classroom activities
Working with students with a range of additional needs
Supporting communication, social development and independence
Delivering interventions and reinforcing learning
Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Building positive and trusting relationships with students
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider school staff
Following individual support plans and adapting approaches to meet student needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
Experience supporting students with additional learning needs
A relevant Teaching Assistant or SEND qualification is desirable
A patient, calm and nurturing approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to adapt support to meet individual needs
A genuine passion for inclusive education
The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
A strong understanding of safeguarding
All applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and provide appropriate professional references.
