Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA – Moderate Learning Difficulties)

Age Range of Pupils 7 to 16 years
Location Castle Bromwich, Birmingham – B36
Contract Type Full-time, Monday to Friday (ONLY APPLY IF LOOKING FOR FULL TIME) 8:30am – 3:30pm Term-time only
Pay £92.45 – £95 per day £462.25 – £475 per week Weekly pay
Job Purpose We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) within a specialist school in Castle Bromwich.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with learning, communication, and social development needs to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with MLD
Assist pupils with literacy and numeracy activities
Support the development of social and communication skills
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Person Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
Patient, supportive, and encouraging approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt support to individual learning needs
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Two satisfactory references
Qualifications
No formal qualifications required
Relevant SEND experience required, including:
Care work
