New Directions Education are currently recruiting a reliable and enthusiastic Student Support Worker to support an out-of-school provision at a welcoming and community-focused primary school located in a village setting near Chester. This role is due to start in September and is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children in a supportive and structured environment outside of the normal school day.
The school is a friendly and inclusive setting with strong links to the local community. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, caring, and engaging environment where pupils feel supported and valued throughout the school day and beyond.
The Role:
• Supporting pupils attending the school’s wraparound care provision before and after the school day
• Supervising children during play, activities, and snack times
• Creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment for pupils
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
• Supporting a range of age groups within the primary phase
• Assisting with setting up and clearing away activities and resources
• Working closely with other staff members to ensure a smooth and safe provision
Working Hours:
• Morning: 7:20am – 7:50am
• Afternoon: 3:10pm – 6:10pm
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth setting (desirable)
• A caring, patient, and approachable manner
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to engage pupils in positive activities
• A proactive and reliable approach to work
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
All applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and provide appropriate professional references.
