Teacher – Alternative Provision, Bradford

Job Description

New Directions Education are recruiting for a pool of passionate, resilient, and dedicated Teachers to work within Alternative Provision Schools across Bradford. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners who require additional support to overcome barriers to education and achieve their full potential.

We want to hear from candidates who have:

• QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support strategies.
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Team Teach training (or other behaviour intervention training) is desirable but not essential.

You will be working with pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in a supportive and nurturing environment. The role involves:

• Planning and delivering creative, inclusive lessons that meet the individual needs of learners.
• Creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
• Supporting pupils to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
• Working collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, parents/carers, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
• Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
• Promoting positive behaviour, resilience, and a love of learning.
