New Directions Education are recruiting for a pool of passionate, resilient, and dedicated Teachers to work within Alternative Provision Schools across Bradford. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners who require additional support to overcome barriers to education and achieve their full potential.
We want to hear from candidates who have:
QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support strategies.
A calm, patient and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
Team Teach training (or other behaviour intervention training) is desirable but not essential.
You will be working with pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in a supportive and nurturing environment. The role involves:
Planning and delivering creative, inclusive lessons that meet the individual needs of learners.
Creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
Supporting pupils to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
Working collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, parents/carers, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
Promoting positive behaviour, resilience, and a love of learning.
