Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity within a specialist SEN setting?

New Directions Education is working in partnership with a well-established SEN provision in Leeds to recruit an experienced and compassionate SEND Teacher. This role will involve supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), helping them to access a personalised curriculum and achieve meaningful developmental outcomes.

The Role

As an SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging and supportive learning environment tailored to the individual needs of pupils.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons for pupils with complex learning needs
• Supporting students with PMLD and additional communication, sensory and physical needs
• Developing and implementing personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets
• Working closely with support staff, therapists, parents and external professionals
• Using a variety of communication methods, including visual aids, PECS, Makaton and sensory approaches where appropriate
• Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress against individual outcomes
• Promoting independence, communication skills and emotional wellbeing
• Creating engaging sensory learning experiences that support pupil development
• Ensuring all safeguarding, health and care requirements are met

What We’re Looking For

–Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential

-Previous experience teaching within an SEN school, specialist provision or resource base

-Experience supporting and teaching pupils with PMLD

-A strong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches

-Excellent communication and teamwork skills

-A patient, nurturing and resilient attitude

-A genuine passion for helping children with complex needs achieve their potential
