Job Description
New Directions Education are working with a welcoming primary school in Chester who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in KS1. This role is mornings only and will begin ASAP on an ongoing basis.
Role responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with additional needs
Assist with classroom activities, helping the pupil stay engaged and focused
Support social, emotional and learning development
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
What we’re looking for:
Experience supporting children with SEN (essential)
Patient, caring and proactive approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
TA qualification desirable but not essential

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
