New Directions Education is recruiting experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistants to support Year 6 SATs booster sessions across a number of our partner schools on the Wirral. These roles will begin in January 2026, with regular ongoing work available throughout the spring term.

Location: Various primary schools across the Wirral
Duration: Spring term (with potential for continued work)
About the Role:
We are looking for confident, nurturing and proactive Teaching Assistants to work with small groups and individual pupils in Year 6 as they prepare for their SATs. You’ll be supporting targeted interventions, reinforcing key learning, and helping pupils build confidence in core subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
– Supporting pupils during SATs preparation sessions
– Running or assisting with small-group booster activities
– Providing 1:1 support where needed
– Helping reinforce learning in Reading, Writing and Maths
– Working closely with teachers to track progress and adapt support
– Encouraging positive attitudes and resilience in learners
We’re Looking For:
– Strong experience supporting Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
– Confidence delivering or supporting interventions
– Excellent behaviour management and rapport-building skills
– A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach
– Level 2/3 TA qualification is desirable but not essential
