New Directions Education is currently recruiting a Year 1 Teacher to join a good primary school in St Helens. The school caters for children from low socio-economic backgrounds and has a high proportion of Pupil Premium pupils.

About the Role
Plan and deliver high-quality teaching for Year 1, following the school’s curriculum and expectations.
Promote positive learning behaviours and support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development.
Deliver engaging lessons across all areas of the curriculum, with a strong focus on early reading and phonics.
Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching in Year 1 or early years preferred.
Knowledge of Read Write Inc. (RWI) is desirable but not essential.
Strong classroom management and ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
Experience of supporting pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds is advantageous.
Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service, if not already done.
Must have employment references covering the last 5 years.
