Job Description

New Directions Education is seeking a passionate and committed Key Stage 2 Teacher to work within primary schools across Bradford and the surrounding areas. We are looking for motivated educators who can deliver engaging and inclusive lessons, foster a positive learning atmosphere, and help pupils build the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to flourish throughout their primary education.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching within a KS2 classroom environment.
  • Sound knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum and assessment expectations.
  • The ability to design and deliver stimulating lessons that meet the needs of learners of varying abilities.
  • Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
  • A commitment to promoting pupil achievement and raising educational standards.
  • Experience monitoring and tracking progress to ensure pupils reach their individual targets.
  • An understanding of statutory assessments, including KS2 SATs.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for helping children succeed both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in accordance with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages participation and achievement.
  • Assess and evaluate pupil performance, using data to inform future planning and targeted support.
  • Adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL requirements.
  • Support the development of core subjects, including English, Mathematics, and Science, alongside the wider curriculum.
  • Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-key-stage assessments where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour, high expectations, and a culture of mutual respect.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and school staff to maximise pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers regarding pupil attainment and development.
  • Encourage pupils to become confident, responsible, and independent learners ready for the transition to secondary school.
  • Participate in school activities, events, and wider initiatives that contribute to school life and community engagement.
