New Directions Education are currently recruiting a part-time Year 5/6 Teacher to join a welcoming and well-established primary school in Chester. This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys working with upper key stage 2 pupils and is passionate about creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment. The position is due to start after the Easter break.
The school is a community-focused setting with a strong emphasis on pupil achievement and wellbeing. With experienced and supportive staff, the school encourages innovative and creative teaching approaches, providing pupils with opportunities to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Classrooms are well-resourced, and the school has a nurturing ethos where all pupils are valued and supported to succeed.
Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
The Role:
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Collaborating with colleagues to support pupil learning and school initiatives
• Supporting school events and wider learning activities where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching upper Key Stage 2 classes
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• A good understanding of safeguarding and the national curriculum
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
