Time flies so fast… 3 years going through and I believe more good years still to come with New Directions. It’s a great company which I’m glad to be a part of. The thing I appreciate most about the company is that it has given me the opportunity to balance work and life. It has a strong, intelligent and friendly team and the best manager I could ever have, supplying support and lots of work. Training is excellent too. It took courage to take myself to the New Directions office in Swansea as I had experienced a very difficult time in education and was considering leaving it all behind. But after a lovely meeting with Anna and with help, support and encouragement from Michelle, I began working in January 2019 and had really lovely placements in effective learning environments. I can say I’m developing more skills and New Directions have been fantastic in supporting my return to work. They are mindful of my family life, while also supporting my working schedule. Michelle has been amazing in guiding me through the supply process. New Directions also offer free courses which are invaluable in supporting continued development, where other agencies don’t. Even as a permanent teacher you would miss out on these courses.

Working with New Directions proved to be an amazing experience for me. The company and my manager Francesca in particular, have been very accommodating of my requests. I have worked with New Directions for over a year, whilst also completing my PhD research at Cardiff University.
