I’m doing my STLS course Level 3, so working as like supply teaching assistant with New Directions helps me improve my skills and get more work experience. Flexibility work is also important to me, because I can attend the workshop and look after my two little children.

I have been with ND Education for 7 years now. In that time I have had some very long term placements mixed in with daily placements too. It is always a different experience wherever you go. New Directions are good at listening to your requirements too.  I had to stick to the Vale of Glamorgan for my own family timings and they were very good at accommodating that request. It didn’t restrict my work days at all. Schools get used to you and start requesting you by name which is great. I currently have a long term placement with an SEN child in mainstream which was new territory for me and has been a fantastic learning experience .

My account manager is very professional and although I’m booked for each term still phones to touch base  and make sure everything is ok.

I have a good relationship with my contact at New Directions. She is always friendly, helpful and professional. She has always given me feedback after a placement and if I have had any queries they are always answered promptly. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Whenever I have required work my Account Manager has been able to accommodate me.

I have enjoyed working in a variety of schools and feel I have gained valuable experience in doing this. There have also been plenty of opportunities for training courses.
