My name is Peter and I’m bilingual teaching assistant in primary schools in Cardiff. In July 2015 , I was made redundant so it was an extremely difficult time for me! Dan has, right from the start, worked extremely hard to find work for me. As a result, despite being registered with 3 additional agencies, it is with New Directions, (through Dan’s complete commitment to working for you), that I have received about 90% or more of my work as opposed to the other 3 agencies over the last 11/12 months. Dan has always given me the time to discuss my reflections on different placements at different schools, (sometimes for quite lengthy time periods-I talk a lot!) without ever rushing me. He is therefore not only an excellent communicator but someone with incredible patience and an excellent listener at the same time. Dan has been very reliable and has contacted me extremely frequently, not only to offer me work, but also in response to any queries that I have had at different points in time. He has always communicated clearly the daily rate involved and the required responsibilities.

There have been many highlights. Having worked in the same school for 23 years, working for yourselves in many different schools has given me the opportunity to greatly broaden my experience of the job of teaching. I have developed a range of new teaching approaches and techniques that wouldn’t have occurred otherwise. I have met many new people. My two week placement at King Henry VIII school in Abergavenny I will always remember fondly for many reasons.

As a result I would definitely reccomend New Directions!

I have worked with New Directions for over a year now. I have only had one issue with New Directions relating to the pay structure. I was informed by other employees that their pay was different to mine. I called to speak to my account manager who was very approachable and put me at ease as I am not comfortable in these situations. She explained the pay structure to me and also reassured me that my pay would be looked at again in the near future. I was uncomfortable making the call but relieved after speaking to her. I felt that Rebecca had the relevant knowledge to answer my query while also putting me at ease. I would certainly speak to her if I have any other issues with New Directions.
