Clown Around at The Barlow RC High

Posted on

Children at The Barlow RC High are actively encouraged to clown around. The pupils at this school are getting additional lessons in juggling, tumbling and plate-spinning.

The Didsbury based school is setting out to give students a taste of local activities in their area, by providing after-hours lessons. Although the school day is now slightly longer, it enables the younger pupils to spend time, trying out these fun activities.

The aim of these activities is to help raise pupils expectations, as learning some of these skills, has given them a real sense of achievement.

The school has been able to hire outside tutors thanks to a £10,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund. Pupils will also take part in leadership and mentoring programmes.
