GCSE’s – 40 Years later

Debbie Riddle, at the age of 15, prematurely walked out of the school without any qualifications, only to return to Glyn Derw High School 40 years later to sit her GCSE exams.

The 54-year-old carer began a literacy course at Glyn Derw High School in May and admittedly is now addicted to learning!

Debbie said:

It’s definitely addictive. A few years ago I would be thinking, I can’t do that. I wanted to come back to that same place and walk out of those same doors with something. It’s 40 years later but it’s still a good feeling.
